PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Choreographer, dancer and founder of Trànsit Companyia Dansa.
National Dance Award (1998).
As a choreographer he has worked in Germany, Spain, France, Italy, Portugal, United States, Costa Rica, Cuba, Ecuador, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Uruguay and Venezuela.

FOUNDER AND DIRECTOR OF COMPANYIA TRÀNSIT DANSA

In 1985, as a dancer and choreographer, created in Mataro Trànsit the company in order to establish a company resident in the hometown for project pedagogically dance internationally. It was one of the first residents of the country companies and, for 6 years, has developed a municipal dance school with the creation of a space (Can Gasol) that, besides being the headquarters of the company, became home exchange with other European companies. With Trànsit Dansa has created more than 25 works that have been seen in several Spanish cities. Some have enjoyed international prestige.
In 1998 he is awarded the National Dance Award for his career in the world of dance.
Years later settled in Barcelona Rovira and creates, together with other choreographers, space La Caldera, headquarters of the company for a few years until invited to be resident theater company L’Hospitalet de Llobregat (Barcelona).
After a stay in Latin America, Rovira Mataro again to start dance training at the Theatre Municipal (2003) and in 2005 it was agreed that Trànsit Dansa become resident dance company in Mataro.
Some of the works are Trànsit Dansa: Novembre (1985), Trastorn (1989), Entre murderers (1990), The pols de l’Angel (1992), Welcome (1993), El joc (1993, Ricardo Moragas National Award) , Punt memory (1994), Escape (1995), Mandala (1998), Rugged lines (1999), Petites fish (2000) Occupations (2003) or Trans 20 (2005, in commemoration of the 20 years of company ).
And as a company resident in Mataro: The wall (2006, Dies Festival Dansa, Mataro), Les Bacants (2007, Vinseum, Vilafranca del Penedes), Fossar XIC (2007, Dies Festival Dansa, Mataro), El salt de Nijinsky ( 2007, Mercat de les Flors, Festival Grec, Barcelona), Les gifts of Shakespeare (2008, Shakespeare Festival, Mataro), Comencem pels desitjos (2008 Nit de la Solidaritat, Mataro), Gossos of ciutat (2008, Les Santes, Mataró ), Désir (2009 SAT! teatre, Barcelona), Somorrostro (2011), Evangelium (2010), De Carmen (2012).
Since 2012 is the artistic director of the Ballet de Medellin (Colombia) Company, with the task of transforming the company of folk dance in modern dance. During his stay he has premiered two works that have had a major impact: You were born vós and skena-Etnies (premiered at the Bienal de Cali).

CHOREOGRAPHER FREELANCE

In addition to creating for Transit Dansa, Rovira combines a career as a freelance choreographer who takes her to work with several international companies.
Participates for several years in a row at the American Dance Festival and International Choregrapher Resident, International Choregrapher Commissioning Program and finally, in 1998, he joined the faculty committee. Joyce Theather debuts in No Man’s Land, which led her to work with Ballet Hispanico of New York, with which after premiering Poema Infinito, Alè and Olé Garai- and the New Victory Theather, infinite Poem and Alè.
Invited several times by Alicia Alonso National Ballet of Cuba, who commissioned him to choreograph Extravío, Escape (choreography recognized in the Great Book of Honor Theater of Havana) and Earth and Moon (1998 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the National Ballet of Cuba), which became one of the works most danced by the company in all its international tours. In 2008, the National Ballet of Uruguay interpreted in the great Teatro Solis in Montevideo.
Starting his 2008 season, Sodre Ballet (National Ballet of Uruguay) opens the show Earth and Moon, who later interpreted by the Metropolitan Ballet of Buenos Aires, within the Festival of Cali (Colombia).
He has also worked for the Ballet Nuevo Mundo de Caracas, the company’s the medium of Costa Rica, the National Ballet of Paraguay, the Ballet Concierto de Puerto Rico, the Ballet of Antioquia (Colombia), the Company Maximiliano Guerra of Argentina, and Bauhaus and Ballet Opera Dessau, both of Germany.

OTHER ACTIVITIES AND INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS

Exchange projects
Nouvelle Danse Festival et Technologies. Exchange project between Montreal and Barcelona. Spanish Embassy in Quebec.
Sent the Ministry of Education and Culture to teach courses and conferences in Ecuador, Costa Rica, Paraguay and Venezuela.
American Dance Festival. Exchanges with China, Japan, Korea, Thailand, Australia, Latin America and Europe.
Festival of Havana. Classical Ballet by Cuba, get contacts in the arts, management and production in the world of classical ballet in Latin America, US and Europe.
